What is a Check Valve?

‌A check valve is an automatic valve whose main function is to prevent the backflow of the medium. ‌It relies on the flow of the medium itself to produce movement, automatically open or close, and ensure that the fluid can only flow in one direction‌.

The working principle of the check valve is based on the medium pressure and the deadweight of the valve disc. When the medium flows forward, the valve disc is pushed open to allow the medium to pass; when the medium flows in the reverse direction, the valve disc automatically closes to prevent the medium from flowing back‌. This design makes the check valve an effective tool to prevent the backflow of the medium.

There are many types of check valves, which can be divided into lift type and swing type according to the structure. The valve disc of the lift check valve moves up and down along the central axis, while the valve disc of the swing check valve rotates along the axis‌.
